Dear Learners,
          I am extremely overwhelmed to get this opportunity to address you all on this auspicious occasion of starting our physiotherapy college from this academic year.
          Shri Siddheshwar Devasthan is one of the oldest charitable trust of the country, having a high tradition in imparting need-based education for society. My heart is full of pleasure and pride to perceive the progress being made specially in the field of education by our charitable trust. The motto of our trust, till date is to establish a public utility educational institution. I remember an incident during Appasaheb's presidency. In the year 1966, Dr. Chidgupkar had provided free treatment to disabled and poor patients at his private hospital. He met Appasaheb and requested him to get some financial help from Devasthan for the social work that he started. Appasaheb raised this issue before the Devasthan Committee and was successful in getting substantial financial support for this constructive work. Considering the need of disabled patients, the devasthan provided them free equipment’s for Physiotherapy.
         The hospital authority decided to rename the centre and named it Shri. Siddheshwar Pangutva Nivaran Kendra as a token of gratitude towards devasthan. This Disability Prevention Center was a part of our Physiotherapy college. Till today, the centre is giving good service to society. In last 56 years, thousands of needy patients were treated successfully. The foundation of this college was laid in 1966 with the vision of Appasaheb Kadadi. It was the dream of Appasaheb to open an institution that catered to the needs of differently abled people through devasthan as he strongly felt that religious institution too owe something to society. It is realy gratifying to fulfill his dream and carryforward his rich legacy.
           Due to unavailability of the Physiotherapy college in solapur, the majority of students from our district go outside to completion of Physiotherapy education. To recognize the need of students and their parents, we are starting this psychotherapy college to serve the society. It is a really happy moment to become the pioneer in our district to start physiotherapy college. It has stepped into the field of medicine as it wants to reach out to many needy persons suffering from minor ailments that can be cured by Physiotherapy. The services are provided at an affordable price. Providing medical services at an affordable price to the needy is our motto. Physiotherapy is an essential allied health science branch without which modern medical science can't keep pace ahead. After any Impairment and Dysfunction related to Orthopaedics, Neurology and Cardiorespiratory nature, physiotherapy is the only remedy to recover at a faster rate.
             Physiotherapy is an integral part of the treatment and this therapy is also of paramount importance in Sports injury and fitness. Nowadays, physiotherapy is a growing profession in our state and it needs to be taken to a global level. I hope our institution will continue to be a good platform to prepare new physiotherapists for any challenges in the community.
            The physiotherapy programme at our college has been distinctly crafted to incorporate methodology and training that will make the learners a unique blend of excellence, practical knowledge with a strong underlying theoretical base. The learners will stand out as a different class of Physiotherapists after the programme. Learners here will get an opportunity to polish their skills and learn World Class International Therapeutic methods to keep pace with the rapidly changing trends in evidence-based Physiotherapy education. I extend my warm wishes to one and all who have worked for the progress of the campus and still creating a road towards excellence.
